Specializing in large and dangerous trees, Low Sierra Tree Care has tackled many large and hazardous trees. The most important thing is safety. We have great experience and will always get a job well done. Other services include trimming, removals, property clearing, firebreaks, mistletoe removal, height reduction, chipping, ornamental pruning, stump grinding, view clearing, safety trimming, cabling and feeding.
Using the proper trimming technique is essential in proper tree care. An improper cut or the use of climbing spikes could lead to big problems for your tree in the long run. We trim trees to maximize health while always thinking of safety for your family and your property.
Tree removal is often needed; sometimes because of natural causes but mostly because of something we have done somewhere along the line. While removing a tree, we are very cautious of your landscapes and property in general. There are many types of trees and bad removal situations out there; which is why you want to use a tree service you can trust.
Whether you need your property cleared for a new home, firebreak, or for landscaping purposes, we can handle the job.
Having a proper firebreak is one of the most important aspects of being a home owner. As home owners, we have a responsibility to our neighbors to maintain our property correctly. A proper firebreak can save homes and lives.
Contrary to what some people may say, there are really only a couple of ways to properly get rid of mistletoe. We usually try to cut the infected limb out of the tree. If this is not possible, we will wrap the infected portion of the tree with black plastic. This will not only sufficate the mistletoe, it will block the sunlight which will make it unable to grow.
Usually we prefer not to remove the tops of trees. However, sometimes it is very needed. Trees are often planted in bad spots and need to be made safer. Some trees tend to get a little bit to tall. With height sometimes trees can become dangerous if not developed properly. There is a definite art to weight reduction and is something that is better left to the pros to take care of.
Although topping seems to mean the same thing as height reduction, there are subtle differences. The difference is that a topped tree will lead to decay and weak new stem attachment, leading to future failure potential.

Pruning ornamentals is one of our favorite past-times.There are many reasons to prune; our favorite would be for looks, as well as the health of the tree. It is our belief we can turn any delicate/ ornamental tree into a focal point of your landscape.
We price stumps by their size and location. We
also factor in what type of stump it is. If it is easily accessible, it's
only natural that it will be reasonable priced. Contact us for a free
We offer a wide variety of options to clear your view. The best way to approach a view is to work hand in hand with the customer. That way, when we leave a job, the view is always correct.
The most important thing that we have to consider when planting trees is the right tree for the right location. Often times this is not accomplished, and there are subsequent problems following; heavy limbs hanging over houses as well as poorly attached limbs in high traffic areas. Your family is our main concern with these dangerous problems.
Sometimes we have to prune trees that aren't exactly the way we would normally prune them if it was for health alone (tree health is an extremely important decision making process behind what goes into everything we do). In these cases it could involve taking off a slightly larger limb or thinning the tree out more than normally recommended. This could lead to potentially excelerating tree decay and ultimately cause the removal of the tree. However the alternate option would be removal of the tree entirely from the beginning.
Sometimes our trees can not support themselves and need a little bit of help. The most common reason to cable a tree would be to support a heavy limb or a weak crotch. Many different techniques are used and every tree has a different situation. Based upon your specific tree needs, we will determine which cabling technique best suits your situation.
A lot of times our trees don't get the proper nutrients they need. Depending on the type of tree you have, you may or may not require feeding. However, the main problem we usually have is lack of water available to the tree and usually fertilizing problems can be solved by simply watering properly. Most of our soils have adequate nutrients for the tree to uptake. These nutrients can not be readily absorbed without water (yes, our trees do need to be fertilized from time to time, however lack of proper watering is usually the biggest culpret of tree failure).
